Kathleen Massmann is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Owner of Healing Moments Counseling. She has over 23 years of experience working with a wide range of clients, including individuals, families, and groups. She has a PhD in Advanced Behavioral Studies, with a research focus on posttraumatic growth and stillbirth. Her bachelor's degree in English and Philosophy was obtained from The College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University. Her Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling was obtained from Capella University. Kathleen is certified by Postpartum Support International and in Perinatal Loss Care (CPLC).

Kathleen works with a wide variety of clients experiencing the grief that accompanies the death of a loved one. Her specialty areas include perinatal bereavement (pregnancy and infant loss), child loss, traumatic bereavement, pregnancy after a loss, and serious illness/terminal diagnosis.  She utilizes Client-Centered, Compassionate Bereavement, and Holistic Therapy to help clients reach their individual goals. Her belief in the personal power that each individual possesses guides the therapy process.

Kathleen frequently provides training and presentations for lay and professionals nationwide. She strives to promote greater understanding and education surrounding perinatal loss and pregnancy after loss to the healthcare community.

Kathleen is a member of Pregnancy & Postpartum Support Minnesota, Postpartum Support International, Pregnancy Loss & Infant Death Alliance, International Stillbirth Alliance, The MISS Foundation Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider Network, and the Association for Death Education and Counseling. 

Kathleen enjoys gardening, canning, and spending time with her husband and children in her spare time.
