Nathan LaLiberte

Nathan LaLiberte is a master’s-level counseling intern completing his Master of Arts in Counseling (LPCC track) at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. In addition to his clinical training, Nathan holds a Master of Divinity from the University of St. Thomas and has completed formal training in spiritual direction through the Institute for Priestly Formation. His background includes pastoral care, counseling, and leadership in parish and university settings. He brings a relational, person-centered approach grounded in empathy, authenticity, and attentive listening.

His work is informed by trauma-aware and attachment-based perspectives, with sensitivity to how past experiences and relationships shape present patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior. Nathan integrates cognitive and somatic awareness, emphasizing care for both mind and body. He strives to create a steady, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, process challenges, and move toward greater clarity, resilience, and integration.

Nathan has experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, vocational discernment, and spiritual concerns. Drawing on over fifteen years of pastoral leadership and counseling, he is especially attentive to the intersection of emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions of life. He welcomes clients from all backgrounds with curiosity, respect, and care.

Nathan is working under the direct supervision of Dr. Kathleen Massmann LPCC and Board-Approved Supervisor, as he completes his hours toward graduation.
